Teacher Training

Our Teacher Training sessions show teachers how to educate primary school children about animals and their welfare needs.

We run Initial Teacher Training sessions primarily for PGCE students which look at the work of the RSPCA and why education is so important in preventing cruelty to animals. Our training provides student teachers with resources, activities and tips for teaching children about the needs of animals.

Equipping future teachers

We held sessions with almost 800 trainee teachers throughout 2017 and the aim is to deliver more of these workshops in a bid to embed an animal welfare focus across lessons in all primary and secondary schools.

We aim to reach 3,000 PGCE student teachers who will be able to inspire the message of care and compassion for animals with more than 90,000 children.
