Fireworks

Professor Daniel S. Mills (BVSc PhD CBiol FIBiol FHEA CCAB Dip ECVBM-CA MRCVS)
Professor Daniel Mills is a European and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Behavioural Medicine. Daniel is Professor of Veterinary Behavioural Medicine at the University of Lincoln. He also leads the multidisciplinary research Centre for Animal Welfare & Paraveterinary Sciences at the University, which examines the link from genes through to organismal function and welfare, and the impact of animals on society and social policy.
Canine Aggression
The RSPCA would like to thank David Ryan for producing evidence based responses to frequently asked questions about canine aggression and his involvement in developing leaflets on what to do when meeting an unfamiliar dog and growing up with dogs.
David Ryan was a Home Office accredited police dog instructor with twenty-six years' experience, before retiring in 2007. A holder of Southampton University's post graduate diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling, with distinction, since 2002, and accredited as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist by the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour in 2008, David now provides an expert witness legal consultancy in both civil and criminal litigation involving dogs.
Chairman of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors from 2009 to 2012, David remains on the association's business committee and works with local and national rehoming charities assessing and improving the behaviour of dogs. David also currently lectures on the practical modules of Newcastle University's MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare.
