The welfare needs of ferrets

The RSPCA would like to thank the following experts for their involvement in producing information on the welfare needs of ferrets.


Claudia M. Vinke (BSc PhD)
Claudia Maureen Vinke is a research fellow and lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Utrecht on animal welfare, animal behaviour and veterinary behavioural medicine. Together with her colleague dr Nienke Endenburg she coordinates a Clinic for Veterinary Behavioural Medicine.

Nico J. Schoemaker (DVM, PhD Dip. ECZM (small mammal & avian), Dipl. ABVP-avian)
Nico Johannes Schoemaker is a staff veterinarian of the Divison of Zoological Medicine, Department of Clinical Sciences of Companion Animals at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Utrecht. Besides being a clinician in zoological medicine (small mammals, birds and reptiles), his major research interest is on ferret medicine.
 

Dr Nicky Pasmooij (DVM)
Nicky Pasmooij is a small animal practitioner in private practice, with a special interest in cats and small animals.

She worked as a freelance research fellow in 2009 and 2010 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University; during this time she participated in producing the information on the welfare needs of ferrets.
