Our five strategic priorities

Priority one
Rescue and care
Rescue and care remains at the heart of the RSPCA. We have been rescuing animals from cruelty, neglect and abuse for 200 years and our unique work will continue. Our inspectorate prevents harm, investigates offences and rescues animals 365 days a year while our animal centres, hospitals and branches provide vital treatment, rehabilitation and care.

Priority two
Advocacy and prevention
Animal welfare does not exist in isolation and the threats to animals are wide-ranging and complex. We must be part of a broader movement for societal change which improves the lives of both vulnerable animals and vulnerable people.

Priority three
Impact
Understanding our impact is essential to delivering our strategy and driving societal change which makes a difference to the lives of animals. Being impact-driven, focused on the outcomes which most affect animals, will help us understand our progress towards our goals and the steps we need to take to deliver on our ambitions for animals.

Priority four
Engagement
Our new Engagement priority reflects our desire to continue to build reciprocal, mutually beneficial relationships with others who share our love for animals and our desire to create a better world for every kind – our supporters, communities, partners and networks.

Priority five
Organisational effectiveness
We have built the foundations of a sustainable and forward thinking organisation, with strong governance and leadership, stable finances and plans for growth, and a compelling new brand.
