FOOD BANK STORIES
Hear from people we've helped
Paul and Lucky
Paul from Lancashire, whom has been struggling with the cost-of-living crisis has said: “I would choose to feed Lucky over myself any day but fhe food bank has been a lifesaver, allowing me to afford food for both myself and Lucky. The cost-of-living crisis and losing my dad have made life difficult, but Lucky helps me through hard times. She means everything to me, always cheering me up on bad days. The support from the food bank and the RSPCA is invaluable to us.”
Colin and Molly
Colin from Newcastle, whom struggles with mental health and anxiety said: “I’ve turned to the food bank twice due to the cost-of-living crisis making things difficult, and they were amazing. The community Paws events have been fabulous. Molly is my life, and the RSPCA’s support lets me spoil her as she deserves. Getting help with her food and healthcare makes me so happy. The new toys and treats are wonderful. Knowing help is available gives me hope for the future.”
Kate and Lady
Kate from Lancashire, whom recently lost her husband has said: “We’ve struggled since losing my husband in 2019, and finances have been tight. I’ve relied on food banks and community grocery stores since then, especially during the cost-of-living crisis. Their support has been invaluable; without it, I might have had to give up Lady, which would have been devastating for me and my children. Lady has helped us smile and grieve, and she is truly part of our family. Giving her up would of been unbearable.”
