Find or call a vet

All pets need to be registered with a veterinary practice, where you can take them for routine health care and advice, as well as any emergency treatment.

If you're unsure when to call the vet, visit Vet Help Direct, which is an online guide to help you to decide how quickly you should contact your vet. Below, we explain how to find your nearest vet or how to speak to someone on the phone for immediate veterinary advice.

Find your nearest vet

All veterinary surgeons must be registered by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). Follow the link below to find your nearest vet.

Helping with the cost of vets' bills

If an animal you own or are responsible for is suffering or in pain, you're required under the Animal Welfare Act to take them to a vet. If you're worried about the costs, many vets provide health care packages to help manage costs and ensure pets receive regular veterinary check-ups and preventative treatments.
