Volunteer speaker
Do you like the idea of influencing the next generation of animal owners and helping them to become responsible and caring citizens? With the potential to change the lives of animals, we're looking for empathetic, fun, friendly and self-motivated people to talk to young people, usually Key Stage 2 (7-11 year olds), covering a variety of topics.
What will I be doing?
- based from your home or office, you'll visit groups within your local area
- approaching local schools to offer talks and other educational resources
- delivering talks to local primary schools and youth groups, such as cubs or brownies
- approaching local teachers to promote our education work and resources
- providing feedback to our Education Team each time you deliver a talk
What we're looking for:
- you must be at least 16 years of age with access to reliable transport
- computer literate with access to the internet and email
- a good communicator, adaptable and self-motivated
Benefits for you:
- a chance to develop skills such as events organising and public speaking
- a chance to encourage respect for animals and assisting young people in making the choice to become a responsible citizen
- something for your CV!
The time commitment you make, the area you cover and the amount of travelling you're willing to undertake are all decisions to be made by you. We only ask that you let us know this in your application and follow up with us should this change.
